Welcome to Folio Anywhere
August 15, 2026
Our first customer still owes us dinner. She owns a small inn, runs a tight front desk, and spends her evenings chasing payments, emailing bills as PDFs, hoping they open, hoping they get paid, and re-invoicing every time a guest adds another charge before checkout.
That's the problem Folio Anywhere is built to solve. We started with travel, leisure, and hospitality because they have a shape of billing we thought was underserved: the running tab. A three-night stay gathers room charges, a bar tab, a late checkout. A banquet hall racks up line items across one long reception. A golf course keeps adding greens fees and Sunday brunch.
That's a folio, the hospitality word for an account that grows. And honestly, it's how a huge chunk of everyday billing feels outside hospitality too: work on a client, a project with add-ons, a rental with extras.
Here's the thing, though: you don't need a folio to use Folio Anywhere. If all you have is a plain invoice for a single job, it works just as well. One bill, one link, one payment. The same tool handles both, a simple invoice today, and a tab that can grow with charges, incidentals, and refunds whenever you need it.
Why we built the way we did
The invoice is a snapshot: send it, collect it, close it. The account, a.k.a. the folio, is alive! Charges roll in over time, and the total is always current. So Folio Anywhere is happy to handle a simple invoice, and happier still when you need more:
- Keep adding to the same bill. A folio isn't a snapshot, add a charge to the same folio and the balance updates.
- Payment, no login. Each folio gets its own secure link. The customer opens it, taps pay, and is done: no account, no app, no password resetting at midnight.
- Your money goes straight to you. Payments run through your own Stripe or Square account, not ours.
- Every bill is a document. Each folio is clean, shareable, and exportable as a professional PDF. Reports cut across your whole business, and the books reconcile: every charge lands as a balanced entry in the general ledger.
How it works, end to end
1. Create a folio
Add a customer and start adding charges: a night's rates, drinks, greens fees, banquet per-head. Team members can create and send folios without touching sensitive settings; owners keep refunds, team, and payment settings.
2. Send the folio
Send the folio, a link to the folio, straight to the customer. They pay from it, fully hosted, looking like your brand on Pro. No app, no download, no signup.
3. Get paid (and keep the tab open)
Funds land in your own account. Adjust the invoice or get a refund, full or partial, straight from the folio. An incidentals charge the next morning, with card-on-file enabled when your customer paid, charge the saved card with consent (both Stripe and Square supported). And refunds never resurrect a balance, only a new charge increases what's owed. The total is always honest.
Whether it's a single invoice or a tab that's rolled up all week, the money lands in your account, not ours.
Built small, on purpose
We're focusing on getting payment right, which means a few things done really well:
- Team roles built in — owners get full control (refunds, team, payment settings); staff create, send, and collect.
- Bring your own processor — connect an existing Stripe or Square account; you choose, and you can switch later.
- Your branding, your way — a custom brand on Pro, from the bill to the pay page, or the low-effort default that just works.
- Trilingual by default — the whole platform ships in English, Spanish, and French.
Pricing that makes sense for a small business
- Free — up to 5 folios/month, 1 user per company, 90 days of reporting data. $0/month.
- Pro — $99/year: unlimited folios, custom branding, 5 years of reporting, up to 5 team members.
- Enterprise — custom solution, SSO, and API access. Talk to us.
Every plan includes refunds and reporting.
